Mattison Ellis, LPC

Matt is a person-centered, relationship oriented therapist with training and experience in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Response Protocol-EMT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, CBT, REBT, Emotion Focused Therapy, Schema-Focused Therapy, Family Systems Theory, Psycho-dynamic theory, and the practice of Mindfulness and Meditation.  He holds a Christian world view that informs and guides everything he does, and offer a biblical, faith-based approach to therapy for all who are interested.

Using this multi-faceted approach he treats anxiety, depression, anger, addiction, trauma/PTSD, abuse, bi-polar disorder, infidelity, couples communication problems, family system dysfunction, etc.  He can help you:  find healing from emotional wounds in your past, learn how to keep your mind in the present moment, and break free from unhelpful thought patterns and false core beliefs that keep you imprisoned to unwanted and destructive behavior patterns.

The Swiss psychiatrist Dr. Carl Jung, said “Neurosis is always a substitute for legitimate suffering."  Matt believes that it is our attempts to cope with pain by consciously, and unconsciously, using unhealthy ways to avoid it that keep us locked in our psychological “prisons" of depression, anxiety, addiction, anger, etc.  His goal is to provide a refuge for you where you feel safe to let your guard down, face your fears, and find hope in the darkness through the light of God given truth.  Let Matt walk alongside you, and together you can discover the path that leads to hope again.  Matt sees clients ages 13 and up.
